Common questions
There is a report button inside every match, on the result screen, and on every player's profile. Tap it, choose a reason, then choose Report and block.
During a match that ends it immediately. Either way we receive the report, and you are never matched with that person again. Choose Just block them if you would rather not file a report.
We review every report within 24 hours. Accounts that break the rules are removed.
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. We email a confirmation code to your address; enter it, and your account is erased on the spot.
If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address you signed up with and we will delete it for you. Full detail: golyapoch.com/delete-account.
The code is sent immediately and is valid for ten minutes. If it has not arrived, check your spam or junk folder — the sender is login@golyapoch.com — and check that the address you typed is right.
If you asked for several codes in a row, only the newest one works. You can request up to three codes an hour.
Find them by their handle (the magnifier on the Play tab) and follow them. Anyone who follows you can be challenged directly — from their profile, or from the row of friends on the Play tab when they are online.
If they allow notifications, a challenge reaches them even when the app is closed; they have a minute to open it and accept. After a match, Play again offers a rematch to the same opponent.
Notifications are only sent for a challenge from someone you follow, and when someone starts following you. Check that they are allowed: iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Gol Ya Poch. Android: Settings → Apps → Gol Ya Poch → Notifications.
Signing out, or signing out everywhere, stops notifications to that phone until you sign in again.
iPhone: Settings → Gol Ya Poch → turn on Camera and Microphone. Android: Settings → Apps → Gol Ya Poch → Permissions → allow Camera and Microphone.
If your opponent cannot hear you, make sure the phone is not on silent, and close any other app that might be holding the microphone — a call, a voice recorder, another video app.
Video travels through an encrypted relay between the two phones, so it depends on both connections. Wi-Fi is usually better than mobile data, and being closer to the router helps. On a very restricted network — some office, school or hotel Wi-Fi — switching that phone to mobile data usually fixes it.
Open it again within thirty seconds and you are taken straight back into the match. Your opponent sees a countdown while you are away. If the thirty seconds run out, the match ends and your opponent wins it.
Gol Ya Poch is new and there are quiet hours. Invite a friend and challenge them directly, or play Practice against your phone — no account, no camera and no internet needed.
Every account gets five live matches a day, free. Reading the daily verse in the app (the book icon on the Play tab) adds five more for the next 24 hours, once a day. The count resets at midnight UTC, and practice is unlimited.
For up to 100 matches a day, there is Gol Ya Poch Premium — see below.
An optional subscription that raises the daily match limit from 5 to 100. It is sold only in the App Store and Google Play, monthly or yearly, and new subscribers get a free trial. Open it from Settings → Gol Ya Poch Premium, or from the Play tab when your free matches are used up.
Bought Premium on another phone with the same Apple ID or Google account? Open the Premium page and tap Restore purchases.
Cancel in your store account: iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your Gol Ya Poch account does not cancel it.
Payments are taken by Apple or Google, and we do not issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests go to them: reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or the Google Play order page for Android.
Yes, in Settings → Edit profile, once every 30 days. Handles use letters, numbers, underscores and periods, up to 30 characters, and every handle is unique. Your display name can be changed any time.
Every match is live, unfiltered video and audio with a stranger. We cannot pre-screen what appears on someone's camera, so the app is for adults only, and you confirm you are 18 or older before your first match.
